Funny, I always thought FedEx was one of the better shipping companies. If you think so, take a close look at the pictures. Now I don’t know how it happened. All I can do is show the world the end result.
Clever how the package handler tried to zero in on the GLASS sticker. The klutz missed the mark but not by much. Also note the PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE _FRAGILE_THANK YOU. That must be a signal to attack. Study the overall condition of the package.
I should also mention the the glass sticker side of the box was either exposed to rain or sat in a puddle of water. That’s the reason the sticker is faded. The packing slip in the sealed (?) stick on red plastic envelope behind it was dripping wet. let me say I HOPE it was rain water…
Point of departure was in California. It arrived here in (near) Dallas, Texas today. I have unpacked the box and amazingly the contents seem to be intact. It was double packed but the inside boxes don’t look much better. They contain about $800 of obviously fragile digital readout equipment.
This begs the question, is it better to mark the box like this and clearly invite some knuckle dragging warehouse shipping gorilla to see how far he can toss a 30 pound carton? –or– not indicate the nature of the contents and just hope it gets ignored and shipped as a piece of standard freight?
What do you think?
Here is my own comment:
Read the third sentence. The shipment COULD have been in a truck wreck in a rain storm and the driver was killed or injured. Hmmm…
