One Giant Step…

I took the step and I am now the owner/operator of my very own 3D hobbyist grade FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) type printer. That’s the extruder style. They are the most reasonable cost for students and hobbyists to experience “making” with minimal investment.

Shop Clean Up

I took a couple of days and went after cleaning and organizing my workshop with a vengeance. I like to have at hand the tools and material I need for a project. If I don’t take the time and effort to clean up and put things back in their normal storage, I soon can find nothing. I felt I was almost into one of those “everything is lost and nothing can be found” stages.

So the workbench was totally cleared. It was the perfect opportunity to put another coat of polyurethane on the surface. The top is nowhere near furniture grade, but a surface coating keeps water and […] Continue reading » Shop Clean Up

Networked Model Boat

I posted a link my new blog on my RoboBoat project in a comment in another post. That made the link buried fairly deep, sorry. The link is also posted in the right hand column. It’s going to be a “very nerdy techno-speak about networks and micro computers” type blog for awhile. The mission is boat control but I won’t be posting much about the vessel for some time.
