Website ISP Propaganda

I call misinformation disguised within a planned marketing effort, propaganda. The formal definition is, “Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.”

All media in the United States has become a competition. So, they have become propagandists, rather than true reporters. It has become so dominate in our culture, most people younger than myself are desensitized by the constant exposure, they freely accept the spin on the truth. Fact is now replaced by opinion which is broadcast by medias as fact. Media now invents the news, without concern for truth.

3D Printing, Not for Everyone

Merry Christmas!

I am amazed by the number of people attempting 3D printing. It’s a wonder, and a curse. Or perhaps I should say causes a lot of wondering, curses and cursing.

I am afraid that because of the reduction of cost, 3D printers are a popular holiday purchase. Many will be in the hands of totally inept owners who expect a plug-and-play experience.

Plug and play (P&P) may be possible on some brand-new units, but in the long term, 3D printing is very far from P&P. A keen aptitude for observation and trouble shooting is a major requirement. The huge number of variables in […] Continue reading » 3D Printing, Not for Everyone

RING Issues

Ring Pro Confidence

At first, the RING doorbell looked like it would do exactly what I expected. Be there to monitor activity at my front door. But it has fallen seriously short of expectation in only the first week since installation.

The hardware is fine. It works. The problem is the Internet servers used by RING to process and store the video. On the afternoon of October 31 (Halloween eve) the servers quit working. The error messages made it look like it was my hardware. I checked with my son who has a RING installation miles away and his system was off-line also. It […] Continue reading » RING Issues

A Measure of Success

As I become successful or maybe just prolific in writing posts in my various blogs, the action attracts the attention of a small group of self-proclaimed “experts” who desperately want to “help” me become more successful. It is the exemplification of the adage, “Nothing breeds success like success itself.” I think the original form was, “Nothing succeeds like success. There are many variations with the same message.

My point is, this attention lets me know that I must be doing something right. Somehow, they managed to “find” me. These folks don’t rally around a looser, as their main intention is to associate themselves with […] Continue reading » A Measure of Success

AT&T – Awful Telephone and Telegraph Company

New cable modem WiFi router with VOIP on right. Original WiFi router, Network HD and cable modem, L to R.

They finally did it. Lost a lifelong subscriber, me.

I have been loyal for no real reason. When something works, I have no desire to make changes for the sake of change. “When it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

My home phone service broke on June 12, 2017. Totally dead line. No dial tone, no noise. Just like someone cut the wire. Could be I did it outside my house where the wire goes into the ground. It has seen […] Continue reading » AT&T – Awful Telephone and Telegraph Company
