Facebook 2020

I did some heavy editing on Facebook yesterday. Had to dig deeply into the back-end and clear out all the standard settings on advertising preference, privacy, people I don’t want to “follow” (I never chose to follow any of them). I am so tired of Facebook trying to analyze my activities and judge what I want (they want) me to “see”.

I am this close  –> . <– to shutting down Facebook again for at least 6 months, a year, maybe forever…  For now, I can check in, check on my family and (real) friends and check back off in a minute or two, if […] Continue reading » Facebook 2020

Merry Christmas 2019!

Been posting too much of the negative. Complainers and Big Brother. Not total doom and gloom, but I want to be more positive. HA! Christmas is a good time to start. On this day a savior was born. Joy to the world. The list goes on…

Why wait until New Years… I can start now with resolutions.

Here is a Christmas tree I 3D printed. Not an original design by yours truly, but it reminded me of the lighted porcelain trees we have around the house at Christmas.

Most of my time is spent on creative projects, making things. Enjoying what I can do […] Continue reading » Merry Christmas 2019!

Filters

My furnace, actually an electric heat pump, wasn’t keeping up to holding temperature too well. Checked filter. Oops… went a bit too long. Reminder to others, check your filter now. Very dirty filters will definitely reduce system efficiency (higher operating cost) and could damage equipment. Don’t put it off. Also don’t run without filters if you have a heat pump or air conditioning in your system. A few days won’t hurt but all season could plug indoor coil fins.

After 50 years in the HVAC business, I have changed and installed a lot of filters. Even electrostatic filters usually have an after filter that can get […] Continue reading » Filters

Retirement – Into The Light and Still Climbing

Out of the tunnel.

It’s happened, the first time in over 40 years I am unemployed. Oh? Yeah, some folks call it retired. It was official yesterday; Last working day of February, 2015. I know it’s a record run of continuous but varied employment most people don’t experience. I always had the next employment in hand when I made the changes. This time I am at the far end of the tunnel with as of yet, no solid plan. Actually that feels good for now, feeling really free so soon after breaking out.

On the brightside of […] Continue reading » Retirement – Into The Light and Still Climbing

Hot Shot!

Dan Kautz – Hot Shot

This photo was created by my daughter Shelley (Shel), who as you can see is a very creative photographer. Yes, she is a professional and I am very proud of her and the work she does. So the photograph is me but it isn’t about me.

Shel shot at least 50 photos I assume. Some were kind of silly, some intense, and some are what I would call studio normal. This is not in a photo studio, but my home studio/workshop. Shel wanted an authentic background.

We both hade a lot of fun. I was honored to be […] Continue reading » Hot Shot!
