I have a pin oak tree in my front yard that has been raised from an acorn. This is a cluster of acorns on that tree that have some kind of disease. My son Steven and I were looking at several clusters like this so he took this picture. Nice shot Steve.<\/p>\n<p>He had just come off the roof of my house and I had given him his mom&#8217;s camera to take pictures of any lighting damage. None was found. Back safely on terra firma, I showed him these acorns. I thought maybe an insect was inside causing the strange growth, We cut one open and there is nothing like a bug that could be seen.<\/p>\n<p>I neighbor later told me it is a disease the acorns get, but that it wasn&#8217;t serious to the tree. I&#8217;ll have to do more research to know exactly what is going on.<\/p>\n<p>In any case I thought they were quite colorful and interesting at which to look.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is something different.
