The reason was one of those &#8220;manager retreats&#8221; some corporations use to &#8220;recharge&#8221; their present and future leaders. A good chance to have face to face relationship building between far flung and local team members. A good experience overall even if we didn&#8217;t have any time to spend on the lake itself.<\/p>\n<p>The lake is a result of damning the Brazos river in a gorge area so the lake is rather narrow with steep cliffs on each side and is about 60 miles long. There is a beautiful view from the &#8220;Cliffs Resort&#8221; where we stayed. Here is one quotation I found why it is called Possum Kingdom Lake. <em><strong>&#8220;Area hills and valleys, post oaks, and cedars make a &#8220;veritable paradise&#8221; for possums around the lake.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 Well, that certainly doesn&#8217;t conjure up an exciting location in my mind. Must be a good story there as there are many very expensive ($1M+) homes on the lake.<\/p>\n<p>One thing they do have is hundreds of deer roaming around. I saw dozens every night.
