I might even venture to say it is better than expected. Yes the 16:9 ratio makes it not as high as my high priced monitor but it has the same number of pixels in width and is two inches narrower. That’s more PPI.

First impression is I am NOT missing the 120 pixels in height difference. I think it is because the resolution is so nice to look at. I am just very impressed what $150 will buy in a monitor.

I am using LibreOffice Writer to create this post (it can be seen on screen) and I have looked at all my other programs and I have to say that I done good with this monitor and so did Asus.

I have an HDMI cable around here somewhere so my next test is to put the Raspberry Pi on the monitor. I couldn’t wait to post that I got the monitor in three days from NewEgg.

Yeah, the picture is more of my face but taking a picture of a monitor is… ah… well… not really proving too much. See, it works!

ngg_shortcode_1_placeholder

So it does! Yummy Raspberry Pi. It is hard to imagine something this high resolution is being generated from that tiny $35 single board micro computer. Also amazing is it fills the whole screen. That is this blog on the screen being shown in a web browser. Yes, full internet connectivity.

Hmm… I should be smiling about all that.

The wide screen arrived and it is as good as expected.
