I have turned perhaps too many of my blogging topics inward since I hit my retirement magic number here in the USA a few months ago. That\u2019s because there are very important decision as I mildly struggle with re-defining my continuing life\u2019s work and how it could change and be different. Retirement is not a stop sign at the top of the career hill, but a choice to keep going on a new and perhaps gentler path home.<\/p>\n
For me I have a decision of alternatives. I know some people do not have options in making this adjustment or when, but I do for now. It\u2019s a privilege to be so blessed.<\/p>\n
I am a leading edge baby boomer and there are millions of us with similar options. Boomers are creating noticeable change in our country in social and political ways as our numerically large and aging generation redefines retirement and keeps working. Each following generation will have similar echoing impact. I am not writing about these large scale social-economic effects, retirement planning, or offer any type of outward advice.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t ask or seek advice in my blogs. It\u2019s a personal decision and I am not in a panic or a hurry . I am just sharing some of my thought process (again, perhaps too many) as \u201cRandom Musings and Obscure Observations<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n
I have isolated the subject of those ramblings and musings to what will be a comfortable retirement occupation\u00a0probably\u00a0only I will enjoy. I take pleasure in writing about the process more than making the decision. It all affects my sense of who I am. I have written that I have been planning and growing my retirement workshop for over ten years. \u00a0So it is obvious any new identity will be associated with what I do in that workshop. Decision made. I think I\u2019ve become monotonous. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
My spouse Gloria continues to teach Piano. She also loves quilting with a large degree of involvement. Her travel is now defined by the number of quilting stores on the route. Life is good to the both of us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
