I just finished some postings over in my “Ramblin’ Dan’s Workshop<\/a>” website. It just felt so comfortable working in that personal site that I wanted to say something here. I spread myself and my posts over several websites so it is hard even for me to keep track of where I have posted and perhaps some area I have ignored for\u00a0some time.<\/p>\n

To me they are all separate websites (or blogs) but I try to make them look as all part of the family of websites I have created. This site provides a good hub for them all with the feeds I post in the sidebars. However, those feeds don’t cover everything. That’s OK.<\/p>\n

My stats show that I have followers on all my sites. I recently started asking\u00a0the honest web bot\u00a0(spider) robots using\u00a0a file (robots.txt) not to visit. They visit far too often if \u00a0allowed. The few bad spiders\u00a0visit anyway, but\u00a0I am seeing more accurate real people visit numbers. There are a fair number of international visitors.<\/p>\n

My comfort is how well all this Internet works together. We have very solid publishing programs and the freedom to say what we want. The wealth of information about ANYTHING is staggering to comprehend. For my effort it isn’t much more than a diary of my interest and activities that I am willing to share.<\/p>\n

I am not out to change the world, or effect social change. It’s not important to me to be the top website in the world at the front of the Google or Bing list. I get a huge amount of spam from people who think (for a fee) they can put me there, like it was a gold medal of achievement I need to prove my worth.<\/p>\n

I don’t much enjoy\u00a0the LinkedIn or FaceBook social clique thing. I don’t have a need to be connected to 500 to 1000 other peoples politics and social needs. I don’t need to click \u00a0“LIKE” to save a whale or my soul. You don’t read that here.<\/p>\n
