I should have done that 10 months ago… Lesson learned.

This was a chance to change keyboard style, but I like the one I have. Just going to replace the keyboard. There is no visible access into the keyboard for repair and the SB part is probably pure unobtainium anyway.

I have may other keyboards. I am using an old Logitech hard wired keyboard right now. It’s a big desk version with a palm rest on front. Actual key area is the same as the broken keyboard. I don’t need or use the front palm rests.

I also have a look-alike Logitech mechanical key wireless keyboard I use on the WIN11 system. It works fine, A fair bit more expensive and I don’t see (or feel) any real advantage using a true mechanical key keyboard.

There are some fanatics that say a mechanical is the only real keyboard, but I tend to think It’s just a “hacker” fantasy. Ha! Lets just say I don’t need an ego-rub and then boast I am so sensitive, I only use a mechanical keyboard. Ha!

The picture shows the MAC version (failed Mini USB) on top and the standard wired keyboard I am using for now. Virtually no difference except for the front apron.

Received the new keyboard!

The new keyboard is acting a bit weird. At first use it showed 100% charge after first charge. After using the keyboard for a fair amount of time, I discovered the the tiny Logi-app that reports battery condition reports 15% charge for keyboard. No amount of charge time makes it go higher.

Did some “fiddling” with the on/off switch. Now it’s charging again.

An internet search reveals there are some quirks with some Logi-MX wireless keyboards built-in logic and batteries involving the on/off switch. I am now observing a “breathing” green status light (upper right corner) while charging. All is well at this point. Headed back to 100% charge.

System Charging

Keyboard problems here.
