All I had to do was the tedious task of making up the motor cables. When that was done (actually when the first one was done) I was able to turn on the new power supply and get the steppers to run, just one at first. You have to be a scratch builder to appreciate that very first &#8220;come alive&#8221; experience.<\/p>\n<p>I did have one problem. When I plugged in my old P4 computer, it sounded like popcorn inside. I had not turned\u00a0the computer\u00a0or anything else on, so it was quite a surprise. I may have got some metal chips inside but I don&#8217;t know. It could have been a few power supply caps exploding. In any case it is now dead \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p>The new computer was used instead and everything went fine after the swap. The HobbyCNC Pro controller was set up for the 3 amp steppers and I was able to &#8220;air cut&#8221; a 20 minute G-Code just as sweet as the Taig CNC. The dual Y axis will be just fine.<\/p>\n<p>More to come.
