A Little More VISTA

I have been running VISTA Ultimate Windows operating system for about a month. I am not retracting anything I have said or written so far. It is still a beast to upgrade even year old machines.

The good news is that it can be done if you are very experienced and are willing to replace or upgrade most of your driver and user software. VISTA is a prime example of, “If it (your old OS) ain’t broke, don’t fix it (with VISTA).” When you are ready for that new computer it will be the only MS OS available. The good news is that when the OS has the hardware drivers and software that it expects (and demands), it runs very well. Startups and software do run faster or apear too… VISTA will be the system of choice when the world catches up.

My biggest irritation remaining is the intense multiple security warnings from the OS when installing or downloading anything. If you turn that “feature” off it still tries to beat you to a pulp telling you to turn it back on. Even when I run as ADMIN the OS treats me like a systems invader. Microsoft needs to give the power user a break from the abuse.
