Gone Fishing

We don’t work all the time. A group of TACers went up to Lake Texoma on the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma. The rains we have been having did not let down, even for this day. The date was June 28, ’07 at Soldier Creek Fishing Camp. The rain didn’t stop the stripers… or us!

The Catch (just some)

Here is the “bucket o’ fish” from one of the boats and there were several bucket’s off-loaded per boat. All told we kept 70 stripers (our limit) and about 7 catfish about this same size. We caught over 100 fish in just the morning. (Some  were catch and release.)

That’s not me. I took the picture. But you can see the size of these “keepers”. Lots of fight in the catch and the most fish and fun I have had going fishing. Gotta’ do it again.

We fished from the Oklahoma side so I have to get some more use out of that “out of state” license! The lake is about 5 feet (yes feet) above what it was this day, so most of the lake facilities are flooded and closed. We can’t go back for awhile. The lake rose over 5 inches just in the time we were out this day. I had to wade to shore to get back to where my truck was parked.Hold ‘em up!

All part of a wet but fun day.
