We Have a Break

I have been blogging about the Texas heat all summer. Now I have the break for which I have been praying. This week has ushered in some fall weather. The home A/C has been shut off and we were coasting in neutral until last night. At that point I turned on the heat and set it for 71 degrees. The house had become cooler than that set point.

This morning (5:30 AM) the OAT (Outdoor Air Temperature) was around 45 degrees and I was glad to have a jacket on. No leaf color change yet, but that can’t be too far away. In the last post I said we got some much needed rain in October (so far), but we can use more. I haven’t heard that the drought has been declared over.

The garage workshop is comfortable again and I am lining up a lot of work I can do out there when not involved with my real money making job. I have some PTO (Paid Time Off) days to get off the books or lose them (corporations are that way you know…) so now until the end of the year I’ll have some extra slack to work in the shop. I waited until the weather said “NOW”.
