I ignore it, filter it and delete it. But sometimes I just have to say something. That’s what blogs are for. I am ranting about the low life “freedom abusers” that seize any free public communication resource and bring it to a standstill. They represent a rule less society with no legal or moral standards. It’s a dilemma created when freedom is allowed to exist. OMG! What did I just say! Hmm… when freedom is ALLOWED to exist. Whoa!
If you exist in a society of any type, there is no such thing as true freedom. What we see as freedoms and sometimes die in the name of, are permitted freedoms. Every perceived freedom is governed by a set of rules (sometimes called laws) that permit various degrees of its very existence. Some folks choose to call them rights because the framers of the US Constitution simply chose to use that term. Even animals follow the rules of nature.
Freedom cannot exist in a totally pure form within any society be it human or otherwise without enforcement. My freedom is compromised when your freedom violates mine. In nature freedom is usually regulated by pain and death. There is an evolved balance between life and available resources. The freedom of individual life is not free. The strong survive and the weak perish. The weak shall inherit the earth only when the strong are eliminated.
When I get 230 spam emails to one good one, I am forced to read to delete things I would never say in public. I call it P&P Spam; Porn and Pills. Of course there are a lot of other filler materials also in the can. Sometimes I lose a good one (email) amidst the fetid dross.
So freedom itself is encased in rules and regulations. What happens with us humans is in many cases there is no penalty (to the abuser) in breaking rules in their vision and expression of freedom. It is always the other (weaker) shareholders of that freedom that suffer. That is until what has been termed the silent majority rises up to smite the abuser. But usually this weaker but righteous group tries to solve the problem with more laws and regulations giving up more of their own freedom. They hurt themselves as the stronger abuser cares less about more laws. The abusers in effect create their own laws as a minority.
So it goes, regulation increases and freedoms grow less free. But only the righteous give a damn. Its like locks on doors, they only serve to keep the honest folks out. So, do I want more regulation? No!
I am forced to grow a thick skin (don’t ask) and live within a communication service that has become worse than the U.S. Citizens Band (CB) radio service as far as useless pollution of resources. It was mentioned on Modern Marvels on TV that the Internet email now consists of over 70% useless email traffic in the form we call SPAM.
I think I receive more like 99%. So I create resources (filters) to eliminate this waste of my time. I am just pleased that the internet operators can still keep it running with this entire load. I can’t imagine who responds (except negatively) but pre-teens. That is another part of the issue.
