Good SPAM

I was just kicking back and scanning through my emails. I generally receive around 100 per day. Most are killed by my spam filters. That means I have to occasionally dump the “Trash” directory where the filters direct the waste material. Thank goodness email isn’t printed although I do still get a lot of snail mail printed spam that is destroying natural resources. It’s amazing how many people and corporations think it is their duty to annoy me with excessive marketing materials. Coupon huggers can go do their own thing but I don’t buy it, literally.

Another thing I no longer do is ever open an ecard. You know those cutesy electronic mail greeting cards that play a tune and display an animation. As far as I am concerned, the spammers have destroyed that social media. I receive a half dozen or more anonymous ecards every week, daring me to open their can-o-spam web site. No thanks. It’s used to confirm they have a good email to sell to spammers.

I am sure I miss a few bona fide greetings from friends, but I can’t sort the wheat from all the chaff. The spammers win by my loosing, tsk.

I try to imagine a perfect society where there are no rules or laws (or no spam) because everyone always does what is needed and is proper. Then I pop back to reality knowing that can never happen. Without the bad there can be no concept of what is good. Ha! What a boring existence constant perfection would be. Bring on the spam. It helps me know the meaning of good.
