Uncle Sam’s share.
I tackled one of my least liked annual events yesterday (Saturday). It really does spoil a perfectly good day. This time it took 13 hours, 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM. No lunch break but several for the potty. I did take 30 minutes for a beans and franks dinner. So make it 12 ½ hours.
Its called “Doing the Taxes.” Yeah, I know a lot of folks knock that off about January 3 but for me, I have to wait for all the paperwork and close the books on two small businesses, The Hobbyist Machine Store and Gloria Kautz Piano Studio (lessons). The truth is I also just don’t like all the records research. The joke about the TV ad Tax Services is they don’t invent the records, they are only as good as the records you keep. However, they really earn their keep in getting it all on the tax forms correctly
I am a Turbo-Tax guy, “Home and Business” version. I’d really be dead without a system.
The good news is the e-file went so fast I had full acceptance before I went to bed. Uncle Sam seems to be at the top of his game in getting them filed and approved. I am getting a refund so that is good.
It sure is a great day today!
