You won’t notice but the blog was updated yesterday. Both the main “backbone” called WordPress and the front end theme called (in this blog), Mandigo. There are forced links to these products in the right hand column under Access. That is because both are free and the links may attract new users.
It seems that this kind of software is never finished. Every new release always repairs bugs and adds new features. Since I don’t pay for the product, I am glad to do the updates. The situation is the software is always a work in progress. For us friendly hackers it makes us feel that we are always on the cutting edge.
I had a little problem with this last upgrade. I broke it a few times on the install. In fact I even corrupted the text. I had to go in and remove stray characters from almost every article. So if you see some weird ASCII characters floating in an article somewhere, I missed them. Let me know where it is and I will repair.
In case you didn’t know, blogs like this and BBS programs like TEDEX actually run on TWO computers at the same time, one for the program and a separate computer for the database. If either have a problem, the system is broke. I am good at breaking things! 🙂
