Calendar Check

Over the weekend I got the HB2 Router into a full production run on a carving for the first time. At last it is a living breathing (well not exactly) machine. It has been a long time getting to this point but the results were well worth the effort. I think the machine itself is a mechanical wonder just looking at it. HB2 Lives!

I was able to fire up the HB2 CNC router under its own power today. All I had to do was the tedious task of making up the motor cables. When that was done (actually when the first one was done) I was able to turn on the new power supply and get the steppers to run, just one at first. You have to be a scratch builder to appreciate that very first “come alive”...

PS2 Power Supply is HOT

I was able to fire up the HB2 (dubbed the PS2 in title) power supply and get a DC voltage reading. For the pictures visit http://thmsblog.tedatum.com/?p=776 . Electronically this power supply / CNC controller is almost  exactly the same as the firsts one I built. The HobbyCNC controller is a newer version but all the rest is the same. This one sports a new and smaller cabinet to house all the circuitry and I am using...
