Meta Platforms – FaceBook

I closed my FaceBook (FB) account a few months ago <LINK>

Unfortunately, FB has become the BBS/Forum location preference for many commercial business information systems. Most have a standard WWW (web) site but get more traffic with FB.

I needed some customer service information for a product I own and was informed that FB was best place to get in contact with Customer Service.

I had, over a weeks time, sent 5 emails to the conventional and published Customer Service address. None of them were answered.

A non FB user forum (for the product) advised that FB is where to get help.

Reluctantly I tried to open a brand new FaceBook account. Slightly different name format and new email address from my original account.

All seemed to go well, until suddenly while scanning in the “personal information” section I was totally locked out of access, saying I had violated some undisclosed “Community Standards” and had 180 days to file an “Appeal”

I had not reached the “Main Page” where I could possibly “Violate” something.

At first it looked False, like a Phishing attempt to lead me away from entering my personal data, and perhaps into a false account.

I sent the Lockout page to the FB anti phishing email, but no response yet.

Thinking it may be a new FB security I pursued the “path for redemption” a bit father. One page I had to pass a 3-part puzzle solve test to prove I was a “human”.  The next stage it asked I make a moving video “selfie” of my face.

“No way, Jose!” Uh… “Mark!”  I am NOT sending FB a video of my face. It says they will “keep it secure” for a year. Yeah, I’m gonna believe that. They also hint at “Real Name” use and providing some sort of “official ID” with my “real” name.

OK security is a good move. But I am NOT jumping through these easily faked hoops.

Next FB (Meta Platforms) will be asking for finger prints and a DNA sample.

OK Zuckerberg, I hope this extreme personal examination improves your public open sewer. It certainly needs improvement.

For me, I am definitely not interested in this invasion of privacy and personal data collection. You can judge me by my actions. But I haven’t made any yet.  You locked the door before I came in.

The numerous user privacy lawsuits must have you running scared.

You scared me too…  I’m outta THERE (again)!
