The Linux Win?

Windows 10 can now run Linux!  Big news event.  It’s true but one must read the fine print. It’s a command line only version of Linux. It runs in a WIN10 terminal window. It is not a GUI full desktop distro. The version style (brand name) can be chosen from the Microsoft Store like an application.  The flavor, like Ubuntu version or Suse is selected. Keeping on Key

Just received my new keyboard for the MAC-mini.  My first keyboard started fading in and out of consciousness. It was a Bluetooth running on dry battery. I put in new batteries and it made no difference. I started thinking it might have something damaged from the lightning strike. All the electronics around it were damaged, needing replaced. I cannot prove it was lighting as it has (had) no physical connection to any of the devices....

Lazarus

The new Intel NUC10 arrived and the 500GB SSD, 2TB HDD and the 32GB RAM from the old NUC7 was installed. Glad to say all the drives and memory are in perfect working condition. Operating exactly as they should. What surprised me was the WIN10 OS was perfectly happy in its new home. I had expected it to stop working with the new computer ID. Computer Update

Lost both my Apple MAC-mini and my Intel NUC-7 due to a lightning strike into my home office. Most all electronic equipment within the entire house was obliterated. In the office – two additional, older, large case, built-up computers were also destroyed. One I called “Ironsides” and the other named “Sandbox”.
