Something Fishey

Here are the slides taken while attending my TAC (my real job) fishing trip to Calcasieu Lake a.k.a Big Lake , Louisiana.

The picture you see of me just sitting in the boat is the last evidence of the windbreaker jacket and clear blended-focus glasses. I took them off while fishing. The clear glasses I put in a inside pocket of the jacket and wore my sunglasses while fishing. The jacket was placed with another one in a rack near the aft of the boat. I checked several times while fishing and all seemed secure.

When we got back to the dock with our catch of the day, the jacket and glasses contained therein, were gone! Hmm… so far about a $475 additional cost to the fishing trip.

The fishing was however great. We (including Dan Duncan who took the pictures) caught our limit on our way back in. The final fish were no doubt loured by the floating jacket (they were looking to eat the victim). This lake was not a fresh water lake but a part of the Gulf. (salt water) No sharks or really big predators that I could see.

I was the one who caught the red fish. I was explaining to Dan that if I hold the fish closer to the camera, the bigger it would look. You can clearly see that it extends from the top of my head to my waist. That makes it about a 30 inch fish! 🙂

The trip except for the glasses was great. We had a great guide (in one of the pictures) and we had stayed overnight in his fishing house (raised on stilts) that was one of the first and few freshly restored after hurricane Ike. The hurricane damage is another story. There was about a dozen or so TACers on the trip and we used five boats.
