Moving is tough

I going to talk about moving from one “shared server” Internet Service Provider (ISP) to another.

The first time I did it was at least 12 years ago. Possibly longer. The name doesn’t matter as I am sure they no longer exist. The service and support were so bad, I think it was a one-man operation with a rack of servers in his garage. I only had a few separate websites then. RING Issues

Ring Pro Confidence

At first, the RING doorbell looked like it would do exactly what I expected. Be there to monitor activity at my front door. But it has fallen seriously short of expectation in only the first week since installation.

The hardware is fine. It works. The problem is the Internet servers used by RING to process and store the video. On the afternoon of October 31 (Halloween eve) the servers quit working. The error messages made it look like it was my hardware. I checked with my son who has a RING installation miles away and his system was off-line also. It was not my hardware.

AT&T – Awful Telephone and Telegraph Company

They finally did it. Lost a lifelong subscriber, me.

I have been loyal for no real reason. When something works, I have no desire to make changes for the sake of change. “When it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

My home phone service broke on June 12, 2017. Totally dead line. No dial tone, no noise. Just like someone cut the wire. Could be I did it outside my house where the wire goes into the ground.
